About Dr. Rula Al-Aouar

Dr. Rula Al-Aouar is a board-certified OB/GYN based in Dearborn, Michigan who has been practicing since 2002. Over the past 24 years, she has delivered over 4,800 babies and become one of the most well-known and trusted doctors in her community.

Her practice has grown entirely through word of mouth. She never needed a website, never ran any advertising, and never hired a marketing company. It was all decades of genuine care, thousands of healthy deliveries, and a waiting room that fills up every single day with patients who trust her. Many of them have been seeing her for up to 20 years.

One of her patients put it best in a Google review:

I have been with Dr. Al-Aouar since I was 15 years old, I'll be 30 this year. She has moved several times and I will follow her anywhere!!! Her care, work, and dedication is more than top tier!!! I love you Dr. Al-Aouar!!!

That kind of loyalty is rare, and it's also what made her situation unique when she came to Solora.

Where Things Stood Before Solora

Most clinics come to Solora because they need more patients. Dr. Rula had the opposite going on. Her practice was overflowing. Patients were coming in by the dozens through referrals from friends, family, and other women in the community. The demand was already there, and the real question was how to keep up with all of it.

How Solora Helped

Google Reviews

Dr. Rula had 160 Google reviews sitting at a 4.3-star rating. For a doctor who the entire city of Dearborn loves, that number didn't match what people in the community actually thought of her.

She has patients who have been following her for years, every time she's moved her practice. Women who trusted her with their pregnancies and their families. But none of them had ever been asked to leave a Google review. And in our experience working with clinics and businesses across the board, the people who are most motivated to leave a review on their own tend to be the ones who had a negative or even slightly negative experience. Someone who had a great visit rarely picks up their phone to write about it unless someone asks them to. That's why we believe it's so important for every clinic to actively be requesting reviews from their patients.

So we connected Solora to Dr. Rula's appointment system and started texting recent patients a simple, personal message asking them to share their experience on Google. The message is written like someone at the clinic picked up their phone and personally asked, which is why patients actually responded at such a high rate.

Within 72 hours, Dr. Rula received over 80 new five-star Google reviews.

Her rating jumped from 4.3 to 4.5 stars, and her total review count went from 160 to over 240. For the first time, her Google profile started reflecting what the Dearborn community already knew about her.

My wife went to different doctors in Dearborn. They told her she would never be a mom. She followed up with Dr. Rula, and now she's a mom to a baby girl. She is the best

She finally invested in a bigger clinic. It's spacious, welcoming. Dr. Al-Aouar has the best bedside manner. If you want someone who treats you like a person, please check her out

These are real patients sharing real experiences. The review campaign gave them the nudge they needed to actually go write it online.

Patient Recall for Overdue Pap Smears

The clinic had a long list of patients they had to call that were due for their pap smear. The process of calling each one individually was eating up hours every week. With new patients flooding in from word of mouth, there wasn't enough time in the day to follow up with every overdue patient by phone on top of everything else.

Instead of the staff having to make those calls one by one, Solora sent personalized text messages letting patients know they were due and making it easy to get back on the schedule. This alone saved about 10 hours of work time per month that was being dedicated to rebooking patients.

Within two weeks, 40 patients rebooked their screening appointments. The convenience of patients being able to text back "yes" to our message instead of having to call during office hours and wait on hold made all the difference.

Missed Call Text Back and SMS

Dr. Rula's practice was averaging around 25 missed calls per week. When the staff was busy with patients in the office or the practice was closed for the day, those calls went unanswered. Some patients left voicemails, but many didn't. They'd hang up and either try again later or start looking at other options. The practice also had no way to text patients at all, which meant every interaction had to happen over a phone call.

We activated missed call text back so that every unanswered call automatically triggered a text message to the patient, letting them know the office was busy or closed and inviting them to continue the conversation over text. Patients could ask questions, request appointments, and get the information they needed without having to call back and wait.

We also SMS-enabled the practice's phone number for the first time. Patients could now text in directly, whether they found the number on Google, Instagram, or anywhere else. This opened up an entirely new channel for the practice. Booking an appointment went from "call during business hours and wait for someone to pick up" to "text anytime and get a response." In today's world, we see enabling SMS as a must. According to a 2025 study by SimpleTexting, texting has officially overtaken phone calls and emails as the preferred way customers want to reach a business for customer service. Many clinics still haven't caught up to this, so at Solora we take pride in getting them there and meeting patients where they're at.

Since launching with Solora, Dr. Rula's practice has seen a 11% increase in booked appointments.

What's Next

The goal is to get Dr. Rula's Google rating to at least a 4.9 as more and more of her loyal patients share their experiences. With over 4,800 babies delivered and a community that already considers her the go-to OB/GYN in Dearborn, her online presence is starting to match the word of mouth that the entire city has known for years.

FAQ

What if my staff already calls past patients?

If your team is keeping up with it and consistently getting past patients back in, there's no reason to change anything. The practices that come to us usually have staff that's too busy taking care of the patients in the office to stay on top of calling everyone who's overdue. If that's where you're at, an automated system takes that work off their plate so the front desk can focus on the people right in front of them.
